Jackson Alerts is Jackson County’s official emergency notification system, designed to keep residents informed and safe during critical events. Powered by Everbridge, it delivers real-time alerts about wildfires, severe weather, evacuations, road closures, and other urgent situations. Residents can sign up to receive notifications via text, email, or phone, and are encouraged to “Know Your Zone” to streamline evacuation procedures. The system also integrates with the Genasys Protect app for location-based alerts, ensuring timely updates wherever you are.

01. What is Jackson Alerts?

Jackson Alerts is a service through Everbridge that can send emergency notifications. You can sign up to receive notifications via phone call, text message, and e-mail. Additionally, you can customize your account to receive notifications about events that may affect your home, workplace, family's schools, and more, as long as it is located in Jackson County.

02. Why did Jackson County transition from Citizen Alert and create a new system?

Jackson County is continually working to improve and streamline its notification tools and processes for faster, more efficient messaging to residents. Jackson Alerts offers more capability with its updated interface, allowing for faster and more efficient alert generation.

03. I signed up for Citizen Alert and live and/or work in Jackson County, what happened to my account information?

In coordination with Everbridge, Jackson County resident accounts and data have been migrated into the new Jackson Alerts system based on the zip codes, city limits, and County boundaries. You should receive an email with a unique link that will allow you to set up a new username and password so that you can review and verify that your information is up to date.

04. If I did not previously register for Citizen Alert, what do I need to do to sign up for Jackson Alerts?

Visit JacksonAlerts.org to sign up, or complete and submit the Jackson Alert Sign Up Form. If assistance is needed, please contact the Emergency Management Office at 541-774-6790.

05. Can I receive alerts for multiple addresses?

Yes! You can register up to five addresses to receive notifications that may affect your home, workplace, or child’s school, ensuring that you stay informed about events impacting those locations.

06. How will I receive Jackson Alerts?

You can opt to receive notifications via phone call, text message, and e-mail. Be sure to add (541) 774-6790 and 88911 (text messages) to your contacts so that you will recognize when a notification has been issued.
